The WFHS Construction Trades program, one of the first in the state, was started in 1973 and has built an estimated 50 to 60 houses within USD 287.
On the next page are pictures of this year's carpentry class project. The class has already built a greenhouse for the vocational agriculture department, and our current project is an
addition for Darrel and Connie Hoyt.
Every year, the school district accepts bids for
projects to be completed the following school year. Bids are opened at the March school
board meeting. The carpentry project can take place anywhere within the school
district. Bidders submit a percentage of the cost of materials they are willing to pay
the school. The minimum bid is 10%. For more information on the bid process, contact
Troy Ifland at the school at 785.566.3392.
