Team Standings: Boys 17th out of 23, Girls 13th out of 19

The West Franklin Powerlifting team began their season at Eudora this past weekend. With over 450 competitors participating it was a great test from multiple 4,5, and 6 A schools attending

Coming off her second place finish at State last season Mya Crabtree wasted no time making her presence known. Mya finished first in the bench, first in clean, fourth in squat and a Gold medal first place win for the Falcons.

On the boys side, last year’s 6th place state finisher Cohen Crowley has his eyes on a top finish as well. Cohen finished with a second place finish in bench, a third place finish in squat, and earned a fourth place finish overall.

Also finishing 6th place last season at state Noah Murphy had an impressive day hitting a new personal record in clean which secured him a second place finish. However the competition was tough in his division and he finished overall in 8th place.

Joey Nickel had himself a noteworthy day as well- setting new personal bests in all three lifts! Freshman Ross Shepherd also set a new personal best squat as well.

Other lifters include Wyatt Hubin finishing 12th, Dylan Watkins 9th, Rowin Morgan 12th, Ross Shepherd 12th, Andrew Nelson 15th, Joey Nickel 17th and Jack Mocnik 23rd,
