Coach Skyler Allen
West Franklin Powerlifting wrapped up their season on Saturday with the 2A state meet in Horton, KS over the weekend. Eight lifters represented WF as the program is competing for the first time in a few years.
Individuals placed really well in their respective divisions, but we were just outnumbered for team standings.
Our two girl members were Haydan Walters who finished 3rd and Hannah Arnett who finished 7th. Hannah had been battling an illness and unfortunately her strength wasn't at her best. Any other week she would have finished 2nd based on her performance from other meets. Haydan also matched her person record on bench press.
On the boys side Linden Harmen 6th, Alex Wilson 9th, Colton Evans 8th, Chandler Scott 7th, Erich Woodruff 6th, and Micas Bolley 4th. Erich set two new personal records while Micas, Colton, and Chandler all tied their PR's on at least one lift.
With one lone senior, the future for the Powerlifting team is bright as we look to continue growing in both size and strength.
I want to give a big thank you to everyone who supported and helped out the team this season. Parents, students, staff, Booster Club, and all the volunteers who helped make our season a success.
